‘Safe Space’ ~ Entwined in Trust
Safe Space is a tender portrayal of connection, capturing three orangutans with their hands gently entwined ~ a powerful symbol of love, safety and shared vulnerability. Found only in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra, orangutans are deeply intelligent and emotionally complex beings. This moment of quiet intimacy speaks to their innate need for connection, especially in the face of the habitat loss and trauma many experience.
Safe Space invites viewers to witness the strength found in unity, and the healing power of touch within these critically endangered “people of the forest.”

FUN FACT: Orangutans have incredibly long arms that stretch longer than their bodies ~ reaching over two metres from fingertip to fingertip!
